Applying AGI to Algorithmic Business Thinking (ABT) in hiring

Hiring the right candidate for the job spell success of a project. Given this incentive, it is worthwhile to explore repeatable processes to narrow the search for success.

ABT sets the framework to solve business problems. It is not obvious for most hiring managers to apply ABT in their hiring practice. Application of ABT requires the decomposition of narrative, pattern matching, abstraction, and the use of digital and human factors together with algorithms. The process is not made for interactive applications. For example, hiring interview for a technical position requires a rigid approach to assess the skill of a candidate on a job specification. An automated ABT framework applied interactively to evaluate the skill of a candidate offers the advantage of framing the interview content according to the job specification while taking into consideration the candidate's thought process.

For example, a candidate is interviewed for a position in software architecture or software design. The candidate is asked to define and distinguish the differences among design pattern, common framework, and reference architecture and related experiences. As there is no preset answer to this question, it is important to follow the thought process of a candidate while fencing follow-up questions within the scope of the position.

Interactive symbolic logic analysis with AGI enables the interviewer to focus on the nexus of the requirements in relationship to the candidate's answers. The interviewer can use real-time symbolic logic feedback to discover the nexus on answers provided by the candidate. While experience of a candidate is important, the ability of a candidate to come up with a good solution requires more than just experience. The ability to abstract complex problems and take a comprehensive approach to consider all possibilities is key to a good solution. Being able to interactively augment the narrative and drill down on related subjects based on a candidate's responses help to identify great candidates for the job.

ELAINE takes collaborative briefings from communications similar to the above example and turns it into an interactive navigable narrative map, offering comprehensive rationales that are inclusive of all concerns.
