Using ELAINE to look at Economic Macro

Why do I use ELAINE to look at economic macro?

by Sing Koo, Sept 2022

Economic macro is important, especially in a tumultuous economic environment like the past week.

ELAINE analyzed J.P. Morgan Chase's "Economic & Market Insights, Macro update" published past Monday which points to a turn around on the prior week as a positive sign of economic development.

However, ELAINE is quick to point out the negativity as a reason for concern. That is the principle behind a glass that is half filled. We can look at it as half full as a reason for optimism, or half empty as a reason for concern. This is exactly why Machine Intelligence is important to me in evaluating narratives.

According to ELAINE's logical analysis, it offered no reason to look at the economy as half full. Instead, it saw the headwind on market and inflation related to stocks, trading and replenishment. Judging on the market activities in the past week, ELAINE has made the right interpretation of facts offered by this Macro Update.
